Storm Henk made a very wet start to the New Year; again, parts of Malmesbury bore the brunt and suffered flooding. Storm Henk came on top of a very wet few weeks and the combination of the Storm and previous wet weather made paths and bridleways very muddy and sometimes impassable. Some problems are clearly due to housing being built on flood plains and the runoff water now has nowhere to go – yet plans exist to build more houses on flood plains!
